Diverse Tribal Cultures

With over 120 tribes, Tanzania is one of the most culturally diverse countries in all of Africa. From the tall graceful Maasai warriors, to the ancient ways of the Hadza bushmen, to the resourceful agricultural practices of the Wameru, visitors to Tanzania will be impressed by the fascinating array of tribal cultures.

While the main focus on a safari is usually the African wildlife, we think it is also important to introduce our guests to our Tanzanian friends. Our roots are in Tanzania. We have long-standing relationships with tribal elders in many villages throughout Tanzania. Our guides and employees have friends and family all over the country and anywhere you travel with Thomson Safaris you will receive a warm welcome from the local people. It is just one of the many benefits of traveling with a company so well established and respected in Tanzania.

"If the animals were majestic, the people were magnificent. We were wrapped in their warmth, delighted in their happy humor and overwhelmed by their desire to make every moment of our trip perfect. A world could learn about graciousness from these men and women."
