Days 1-2 Depart U.S. / Arrive Arusha

Depart the US, arriving the following evening in Tanzania.
Upon arrival, you are met by your guide and transferred to
the Mountain Village Lodge. This is a beautiful lodge set
amidst manicured gardens and overlooking a picturesque lake.

Days 3-4 Tarangire National
Park
|

After breakfast,
depart Arusha for scenic Tarangire National Park, Tanzania's
fourth largest. Here you'll find a geologic landscape as diverse
as the wildlife, with nine distinct vegetation zones ranging
from grassland to woodland, from deep gully vegetation to
scattered rocky hilltops. See the distinctive baobab trees
and the dramatic vistas of the Tarangire River valley. The
river attracts an abundance of wildlife, from elephant, lion,
cheetah, and buffalo to a variety of colorful birds.

Days 5-7 Gibbs Farm / Ngorongoro Crater

After a final
morning of wildlife viewing in Tarangire, we head off across
the Great Rift Valley into the Ngorongoro Highlands, arriving
at an idyllic organic farm and working coffee plantation.
With Gibbs as your base, spend time during
the next two days wildlife viewing on the floor of nearby
Ngorongoro Crater, a haven for about 30,000 non-migratory
animals. The variety and quantity of wildlife within this
small 10-mile area, is extraordinary.
During your time at the lodge, explore the
area through nature walks, bike riding or hiking.

Days 8-9 Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge
|

Leaving the Ngorongoro Conservation Area,
stop at the famed Olduvai Gorge, where some of the
earliest remains of human-like species were unearthed by the
dedicated Leakey family. Here in these desolate gullies the
jawbone of Zinjanthropus "Man" was discovered. The Gorge Museum
explains the Leakeys' methods and their remarkable finds.
Then, begin the journey into the great Serengeti
traveling deep into the wilds of Africa. The sight of giraffes,
lions, ostriches, zebras and warthogs will dazzle you. See
herds of animals on vast open plains and predators hunting
prey. The multitude and diversity of species here is unrivaled.
Spend two nights in our signature Serengeti Wildlife Camp,

Days 11-12 Serengeti National
Park

Enjoy another
2 full days of game viewing. On the seemingly endless plains
of the Serengeti are literally millions of hoofed animals.
They are constantly on the move in search of pasture, watched
and pursued by the predators that feed on them.
Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch.

Days 12-13 Serengeti / Arusha / Depart

After
a final morning of game viewing in the Serengeti, fly back
to Arusha for a farewell lunch. Day rooms are provided for
a shower, rest, shopping or a swim before you are transferred
to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home.
