Day 1-2
Depart U.S. / Arrive Arusha


Connect in Amsterdam with your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport, arriving late evening. You will be met by Thomson Safaris staff and transferred to your lodge. We can arrange your international flights, please call for competitive pricing and availability.

Day 3
Enashiva Nature Refuge


Depart after breakfast on a charter flight to Wasso. Continue your journey into the heart of Tanzania by heading to Enashiva Nature Refuge, an exclusive area for Thomson guests, in the Serengeti ecosystem.

  • Orientation walk
  • Overnight: Thomson Nyumba

A $100 per person conservation fee goes toward preserving this pristine land.

 
 

Day 4
Enashiva Nature Refuge


This remote and pristine region is a private wilderness area owned by Thomson Safaris. Its unique geography, and it’s location outside the park make it an perfect destination for discerning guests who wish to enjoy a true wilderness and exploration experience.

Day 5
Enashiva Nature Refuge


Revel in the exclusivity on your second day of exploration. Walk far and wide on your exploration of this scenic area.

  • Choose a relaxing walk on the savannah or a challenging hike along a scenic ridge
  • Gain further insight into the local culture by visiting a Maasai women's collaborative
  • Share stories at the campfire with your new, local Maasai friends before dinner
  • Overnight: Thomson Nyumba
 
 

Day 6
Serengeti National Park


Drive to the Serengeti, home to literally hundreds of thousands of hoofed animals, the Serengeti is a pristine and unique sanctuary that will give you a glimpse into “the world as it was in the beginning.”

  • Full day of wildlife viewing

Day 7
Serengeti National Park


Spanning nearly 6,000 square miles, the Serengeti has even more to offer you today. With your skilled guides at the helm, the game viewing promises to be interesting on this last day of your adventure.

  • Full day of wildlife viewing in Serengeti National Park
    (if you have advance reservations, make an early departure for your hot-air balloon excursion today or tomorrow)

Day 8
Ngorongoro Crater


Make your way from the Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater, a geological marvel boasting several vegetation zones from lakes to forest to savannah and being home to about 30,000 animals, despite its tiny size of only 10 miles across.

  • Stop at Olduvai Gorge
  • Picnic lunch
  • Overnight: Thomson Ngorongoro Nyumba
 
 

Day 9
Ngorongoro Crater


You will have a front row seat to observe some of the densest wildlife concentrations on earth during second visit to the crater floor.

Day 10
Maasailand


This morning, hike down into the floor of Empakaai Crater where we will explore the shores of the flamingo lined lake. There are no roads and no tourists, and you'll be enthralled by this quiet, magical place. Return to the rim to spend a quiet night under the stars before the next leg of our journey.

  • Hike Empakaai Crater
  • Picnic lunch
  • Overnight: Empakaai Camp
 
 

Day 11
Maasailand


Begin trekking down into the Rift Valley escarpment joined by a Maasai walking guide. Enjoy the remote terrain and stunning scenery where very few travel.

  • Full day of trekking through Maasailand
  • Overnight: Acacia Camp
 
 

Day 12
Great Rift Valley


Walk for several hours through this beautiful setting, with Ol Doinyo Lengai in the background. Complete your scenic trek at Lake Natron where you will enjoy lunch. Guides and drivers will meet you and take you to a relaxing retreat nestled at the foot of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment.

  • Half day of hiking
  • Picnic lunch at the scenic Lake Natron
  • Overnight: E Unoto Lodge
 
 

Day 13
Great Rift Valley / Arusha / Depart


Depart this morning, spending the rest of the day in Arusha with a farewell lunch, some shopping and a dayroom to prepare for your flight home this evening.

  • Dayroom in Arusha
  • Transfer to the International Airport for your flight home
 
 

Day 14
Arrive U.S.
